MANGANESE SULPHATE MONOHYDRATE

Manganese Sulphate Monohydrate (MnSO₄ • H₂O) is a micronutrient used in plant cell culture media and in cell culture experiments:

• Plant cell culture media: It is used in media such as Chu’s N6, DKW/Juglans, Murashige and Skoog, and Gamborg’s B-5.
• Cell culture experiments: It is used to prepare micronutrients.

Manganese sulphate monohydrate is also used in biological research as a source of manganese ion. Some other applications of manganese sulphate monohydrate include:

• Culturing Bacillus licheniformis
• Inducing chromosomal abnormalities in plants
• Investigating the enzyme dependent glycosylation of endogenous glycoproteins in human skeletal muscle
• Removing contaminating genomic DNA in RNA samples for RT- PCR
